Locke
In addition to my last blog Locke believes that principles are not innate unless their ideas be innate. So if ideas that seem to represent the truth are not made up of ideas that were originally innate then it is impossible that the ideas are innate and born with us. He also says that if our mind was without innate principles than there can be no knowledge, no assent, and no mental or verbal meaning about them. I don't really see how he proves that certain ideas are innate or not.

I read this also and I feel the same way that you do. When he says that truth is not made up of ideas originally innate adn born with us. Because we would have no knowledge, assent or mental or verbal meaning. He didnt prove it he just stated it. So were is the prof? How can we know it's true? I dont see how we can know it's true because the was no way that he proved it. Do we just believe it cause he said it?
Yea i think that's what he expects us to do...believe it because he said it.
